About Lesson

The World Literature course explores how literary works serve as a means of understanding, constructing, and interpreting the meaning of human experiences across different cultures, historical periods, and social contexts. Literature is understood as a written expression of valuable and meaningful human experiences, with a particular focus on novels as models for understanding reality. Literary analysis is approached through various academic disciplines, including history, sociology, anthropology, political science, psychology, and psychoanalysis. By reading literary works from different countries and historical periods, students are encouraged to explore cultural differences, diverse perspectives, and civilizations. Fiction is also considered important because it allows people to explore possibilities beyond existing realities, question what is commonly regarded as normal, and develop new perspectives and understandings. Throughout the course, each literary work will be examined through its plot, setting, characters, and symbolism, with particular attention to how and why authors present their stories in specific ways to communicate messages and construct meaning.
